At Little Light Portraits, I bring studio-quality portraiture into the childcare environment, using a neutral coloured backdrop that ensures timeless images without distracting backgrounds. First and foremost, I never ask kids to pose or say cheese. Instead, I talk to them, play silly games, and get genuine laughter from them! If a child won’t smile, that is perfectly fine with me. Kids are free to feel their feelings and I do my best to capture their own unique personalities. Each child will have a collection of individual, sibling, and group photos, with high-resolution digital images included at no extra cost.
All packages are prepaid, simple, and designed to suit every budget—something I feel strongly about given the high cost of living families face today. My goal is to make the process seamless for centres while delivering beautiful, professional portraits that families will treasure.
After photo week, parents receive a secure gallery link to view their child’s photos. They can select images for their prepaid package — completely online. Centres don’t handle orders or money, and staff portraits are included free of charge.

HOW IT WORKS…
-
I photograph from FEBRUARY until the end of NOVEMBER during school terms only. My most popular months are April - August (term 2/early term 3) so book early to avoid missing out.
-
I send out paper flyers, posters & email digital flyers. Parents then register & PRE-PAY online and pick a package that suits them.
-
Each class is allocated a photo day. I generally do 1 class per day - or 2 per day if availability is limited.
-
I send an EMAIL to parents who registered & prepaid when their photo galleries are ready to view within 7-10 working days.
There is a 10 day ordering period and then photo packages delivered 2-3 weeks later.
HOW DOES PHOTO DAY WORK?
I usually start the day around 8:45am with individual portraits for all the children who are registered and prepaid. Each child gets their own little photo session, where I capture a lovely variety of images. This part of the morning takes just over an hour.
By 10:30am, it’s time for the class photo, taken just before morning tea, followed by a few quick staff portraits. I find that keeping to one class per day makes the whole process calm, smooth, and enjoyable for everyone.
CLASS PHOTO STYLE
For children aged 4–5, I offer the traditional class photo style. The children are seated together in rows with their teachers included—a format parents absolutely love and cherish for years to come. We can discuss with you the suitability to do a traditional class photo for the oldest class group only.
These photos are taken on a set day for each class, usually around 10:00–10:30am, and are automatically included in every child’s package.
For toddlers and babies, I create composite class photos instead. Photographing little ones in a group can be too disruptive, so composites make the process smoother and stress-free while still providing parents with a beautiful keepsake.
PHOTO PACKAGES
I know the cost of living can weigh heavily on families, so I’ve kept my packages simple, affordable, and stress-free. At Little Light Portraits, every package includes your child’s high resolution digital files AT NO EXTRA COST, just beautiful memories you can keep and share forever.
PLEASE NOTE: Just a heads up, the class photo or composite digital file won’t be included in all the packages.
